Your tasks

As an apprentice or cadet, you will receive practical training and experience in seafaring. This includes participation in supervised navigation work, training in safety procedures such as the use of rescue equipment and fire safety, loading and unloading cargo, observation of the engine room, learning to communicate with crew and passengers, and participation in general ship operation tasks such as maintenance and cleaning.

As an apprentice or cadet, you will take part in a wide variety of tasks on board, thus ensuring hands-on experience and knowledge of seafaring.

Qualities we look for

The most important qualities you must have as an apprentice or cadet are curiosity and a willingness to learn. You are responsible and punctual, and keen to follow safety procedures, work well as part of a team, and can communicate clearly with crew and passengers.

As an apprentice/cadet, you must be able to handle technical challenges, while also being able to perform tasks under supervision. It is important to have a basic interest in maritime operations and shipping in order to acquire as much knowledge and experience as possible during your apprenticeship/cadet time on board.
