The ferry cruise takes in three fjords: the Norddalsfjord, the Sunnylvsfjord and the Geirangerfjord.
The Geirangerfjord is a Unesco World Heritage Site of Nature.
Daily in the season June 20 - August 20 2010
This is one of Norway’s most beautiful ferry cruises, lasting 2 hours and 15 minutes (click here for time schedule and prices). The trip takes you through a fjord and mountain landscape that has been nominated for inclusion on UNESCO’s World Heritage List in 2005. You will be fascinated by the surrounding scenery and the many fjord and mountain farms that cling to mountain ledges or appear to seek shelter under a crag, safe from the forces of nature. Here the legends are many and history almost tangible.
There is a cafeteria on board, and we recommend that groups book lunch/dinner in advance.
Everyone can book in advance by sending an e-mail to mrf@fjord1.no. Feel free to call us on (+47) 71 21 95 00 if you have questions about the trip.
In Geiranger we highly recommend a visit to the Norwegian Fjord Centre whose impressive exhibition takes you on a journey from the fjord to the mountains and gives you a unique insight into an era and way of life that no longer exists. From Valldal you can continue to the Trollstigen Road and Åndalsnes, or you can take a detour to Tafjord, whose attractions include an open-air swimming pool and an energy museum.
